So it's been quite some time (at least in the online world) since I've posted anything on my blog. I'm sure not many people have noticed, but that's okay :)
The past month has been filled with so much, most importantly with family. In a short amount of time, with little complaining or obstacles in our way, we were able to visit Ryan's grandparents; two of which are struggling with their fragile health. After the loss of Ryan's maternal grandfather a few years ago, we've become acutely aware of the importance of spending time with family while we can. We continue to keep Grandpa and Grandpa Thomas in our daily prayers - and it seems to be working somewhat. Grandma is looking much better and is now eating more regularly. God is taking care of her in ways we cannot. I thank Him for that.
After our trip to the Louisville area, we made our way up to my side of the family. We got to see my Grandma Richey, and she's still as ornery as ever! I love that woman. Then we spent time with my dad and then my mom and stepdad. My family lives 2 1/2 - 3 hours north of Indy off I-65. My parents work extremely hard and that leaves very little time to spend with them. Thankfully, over the holidays everyone took some time off work. We had a fantastic time; it reminded me how much I miss them. Ryan and I learned with his Grandpa Smith's death that we have so little time to spend with our families and how precious that time is. I don't think I could ever tell my family (which includes Ryan's family as well) how much they mean to me and how they've helped shaped me into the person I'm continually becoming.
End point of my rambling? FAMILY. I love them and they mean the world to me. God surrounded me with the people who would help turn me into the person He wants me to be. For that, I thank Him.
