Bittersweet Day

Today has been bitter sweet: I was fortunate enough to spend the entire day with my Mom and sister, Nicole, sending her off to her first day of grad school :) However, just down the street little Lucy Kate Hopkins was having open heart surgery at 6 months of age. Lucy is out of surgery and her parents are with her, but it's still a very scary time. I'm amazed at what the doctors are able to accomplish in giving this baby girl a life she hasn't been able to experience just yet (like her mamma says, pink legs and pink toes...). To that end, I'm amazed of the strength of Lucy and her parents Josh and Sarah. It takes a great deal of love and fortitude to make it through something as critical as this. Keeping them in my thoughts and prayers - I would appreciate if you would do the same.
