Smokehouse on Shelby

Last night Ryan and I decided to go out for a late dinner and take advantage of Devour Downtown. We ended up at Smokehouse on Shelby; not something I would normally be up for. But after our trip to Dallas last year, I figured I'd give it a try. The deal at Smokehouse was 2 for $30 - one appetizer, two entrees, and two desserts. We started with 12 wings (well, Ryan did) with hot sauce. Ryan said they had a very distinct smokey flavor, something he hasn't had on wings before. For the entree, I orded the beef brisket with sweet bbq sauce, applesauce and chips. Ryan ordered pulled pork with chipotle bbq, baked beans and cole slaw. Everything was great! Too much food though - we had enough for about 5 people. Ryan loved the baked beans, and I thought the brisket was awesome. For dessert we shared the turtle brownie sundae - warning, if you only have 2 people, do not order 2 of these! It was delicious, but huge! Instead of Ryan's dessert, he had beer with his dinner. We had two take-home boxes filled with left-overs. Very much worth the $30!
