*Our Bake Shoppe*

I'm an absolute sucker for sweets - there, it's out in the open.

That's why when I noticed the sign for Our Bake Shoppe on Main Street in Greenwood, IN, it was inevitable that I would be stopping in for a closer look. And I'm so happy I did. Dan and Rebecca Elesner, owners of Our Bake Shoppe, opened their doors 6 months ago this weekend. How I've let my radar fail me in hearing about this place is a mystery, because oh my goodiness is it good.  Right now the store is a little empty; they're still in the process of decorating and setting up shop. I won't lie, I was a little confused if they were really opened when I walked through the door. But there were cupcakes in the case, and they were just so welcoming...

The cupcakes are beautiful, much as you would expect from a trendy bakery. Not what you would expect in Greenwood (just my personal opinion - feel free to disagree). Dan was very personable and spent quite a bit of time telling me about the staff, their history, and how business is really starting to take off. Honestly, if this place doesn't do a slamming business, I'm not sure what would in Greenwood.  So, back to the cupcakes. I decided that I would have to try a few different kinds to get an idea of quality - pretty cupcakes are one thing, but can they stand up in the taste department? Oh yes friends, they can. I tried the standard chocolate (super rich - don't expect to eat much of this cupcake right away), the coconut (a little dry, but paired well with the coconut frosting), strawberry (yum...), and pumpkin (uber yum!).  This morning Ryan and I stopped by to pick up the hazelnut and caramel cupcakes, and also tried the turtle sugar cookie (to die for, seriously).
